The Story

Remember that Guy who used to go out to the bars drinking every night? He’d get completely smashed and buy everyone drinks, he could barely stand, but we didn’t care as long as he kept buying. He was a machine, it didn’t matter if he had class the next day or not, he was always the life of the party.

What is the big deal ?

That guy sounds like a great guy to party with right? Alcohol makes it very difficult to make clear, smart decisions. When more people are involved that are encouraging him to drink more doesn’t help either.

What could go wrong ?

He goes out every night and buys himself and everyone else drinks, he’s spending $50 a night. If he goes out 4 nights a week, that’s $200 a week, $800 a month and $6,400 for the year.

For a lot of students that’s more spending than they have. And if it’s OSAP, it’s not free money, you have to eventually pay it back. Besides, if you’re getting that loaded regardless of your class schedule, then you don’t care about going to class, which means your grades will suffer.

Don’t be that guy.

University is a time to party right? You need a social life; it can’t be about school all of the time. But there is a time and a limit for everything. It’s about balancing your academic and social lives evenly.
