So you broke a rule from the Campus Alcohol Policy. Wait, Campus Alcohol Policy? Yeah, that’s right; the University of Windsor has a campus alcohol policy for all students to abide by. Here are some Alcohol Policy Violations and what can happen if you break the rules.
Violations include:
- Illegal possession or consumption of alcohol (underage drinking or open liquor)
- Drunken, violent or disorderly conduct (public intoxication)
- Damage caused to University of Windsor premises or to property of a member of the University community on the University premises (vandalism, mischief)
- Illegal distribution, manufacture or sale of alcohol (supplying minors with alcohol)
- Individual or organized efforts/actions to encourage or facilitate inebriation (drinking games or keggers)
- Individual or organized efforts/actions to place drugs in other’s drinks.
This is what can happen to you if you break the policy:
- A warning from Campus Police
- Completion of an Alcohol Education Session and E-Chug (at your own cost)
- Issue of a Provincial Offences notice ranging from $50-175 (plus the victim surcharges)
- Clinical and professional consultations with the Student Counseling Centre.
- Referral to a substance abuse program
- Summary and formal procedures in accordance with Senate Bylaws. Such penalties may include reprimand, probation, suspension or expulsion.
